Son Kills His Father In Lagos During Their Quarrel

Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigations Department

(SCID), Yaba, Lagos State, have arrested a young man for the murder of

his father.

The crime took place at Mile 2, Estate area of the state, Saturday

morning, The Eagle Online reports.

A 25-year-old Oluropo Tifase is believed to have stabbed his father to

death with scissors during their quarrel.

According to the reports, the deceased was rebuking his son for his

inappropriate behaviour before the latter cruelly attacked him.

Residents from the area, where the crime took place, alleged that

Moses Tifase was murdered by his son, who had been earlier dismissed

from the University of Lagos.

Lagos State police spokesman, Kenneth Nwosu, later revealed that the

suspect had been having constant battles with his late father over his

uncontrollable behavior.

Nwosu said:

"The suspect and his late father had a sour relationship due to his

unruly behaviour. The father and the son have not been in good

relationship, but on the fateful day of the incident, the suspect and

his father engaged each other in a serious argument.

"The suspect angrily picked up a scissors and stabbed his father on the neck."

The police spokesman added that the suspect's mother and sister were

present when the crime was committed. That is why three members of the

family were taken to SCID for further investigation.

A similar crime happened earlier this year in Enugu State where a

30-year-old man, Chukwukezi Afonogu shot his father dead from the

hunter' gun after one of their quarrels.

How Not To Fall In Love With The Wrong Person

Last week Toni Payne vented again on Instagram about her broken

marriage and how she's been called "every name in the book" because

she loved the wrong person. The issue caused some stir on social

media.

We may never find out for sure what really happened between her and

9ice and what made them divorce within a year. However, maybe Toni is

right. Maybe she and 9ice weren't really right for each other. Maybe

they fell in love with the wrong person.

Toni Payne and 9ice

Sometimes when people go into a relationship with someone, they soon

realise that the person's not right for them and that they're

essentially incompatible. But they go on with the relationship anyway.

Sometimes they do this in hope that things will change along the line

and that they'll be able to fix the situation. However, this often

turns out to be a costly miscalculation, and relationships like that

inevitably reach breaking point and implode.

In the movie God's Not Dead, Amy is dating a young business executive

and her doctor has just told her she has cancer. But when she meets

her boyfriend and gives him the news, his attitude changes and he

starts to hint that he'll leave her.

So she asks him in surprise, "I thought you love me. Why didn't I see

this coming?"

He replies, "Because you saw what you wanted to see."

Many people are like that. They're so caught up in the relationship

that they fail to see the handwriting on the wall. What they see is

the looks, talent, possession, and all that stuff. Then when things

get messed up and they realise they've been in love with the wrong

person the whole time, they wonder why they didn't see it coming. The

thing is, they saw what they wanted to see and not what was actually

there.

People also fall in love with the wrong person when they don't have a

clear idea of what they want right from the beginning. It's like going

shopping without deciding what you want or what would be best for you

and then expecting to get a great purchase. So many people go into a

relationship without first determining what kind of man or woman would

be right for them.

That's why even the wrong person seems right to them, because they

haven't prepared to sort the wheat from the chaff.

There are also times when people get into or hang onto a relationship

because of sympathy or indebtedness. They feel that this person has

done a lot for them and that they're indebted to them. So even though

they can see that this person isn't right for them, they stick to the

person anyway.

It's the same way with sympathy. People who make this mistake feel

that the person really needs them right now and that they NEED to be

with this person. So they get sucked in, and eventually they realise

they've put themselves in an unnecessary situation.

Choosing the right person is a very crucial step in developing a

lasting relationship. It takes a lot of caution and sense. So when we

find we're with the wrong person, it's best to stop hoping we can fix

them or the relationship and find the courage to move on. It's also

important to pay close attention to the signs when we're in a

relationship and not get carried away by the nice things about the

person. We need to clearly determine what kind of person would be

right for us and make sure to vet people before committing to them.

Relationship with the right person is never based on sympathy or

indebtedness.

9ice and Toni Payne have shown us so far that the wrong people for us

aren't necessarily bad people. They're simply not right for us — and

when we take this for granted, we sign up for problems that might take

years to resolve, or might never be resolved.

How To Get Someone You Like To Notice You

Attention : How do you get someone you like to notice you?

This is perhaps the oldest conundrum known to man, right after how to

get dinosaurs to not notice you. Here are some ways to get a guy's

attention, when he doesn't even know you exist.

(Note: you have to exist or these will not work.)

1.) Make eye contact with him from across the room, and then

seductively lick your lips. If you can't find them, lick someone

else's lips.

2.) Make eye contact with him but putting your eyeball on his arm.

3.) Stand behind him and tap him on the shoulder, but then sidestep

when he spins around, and keep doing this until he is so dizzy that he

is in love with you probably.

4.) Shout out "Hey, future husband!" and then, if he turns around, he

is obligated to marry you, by the law of "responds-to-shoutsies".

5.) Whistle sharply with your fingers so that he looks up at you, but

be sure you can actually do this or he'll just see you going "pthhbth"

with your fingers in your mouth.

6.) Strut around displaying your colorful plumage in order to show

your desirability as a mate (must be a peafowl).

7.) Wink at him. If you can't wink, use

your hands to grab one eyelid and wink manually.

8.) Dress to be noticed by wearing your finest wizard cloak or vampire costume.

9.) Pour your heart out in a long, rambling letter about all of your

feelings and emotions and then put some perfume in the letter and then

seal the letter with a kiss and then chicken out and put the letter in

the garbage and go cry in your bed.

10.) Wear an exotic fragrance that nobody else wears, so that he will

associate this scent only with you (e.g. Fresh Gasoline or Crayon

Taste).

11.) Make some gestures at him, and then explain that you were telling

him he was cute in sign language, even though what you actually said

was "wrrlhgbln."

12.) Guys like girls who seem like they're always having fun, so make

sure he always notices you laughing, no matter where you are. ("Ha ha

ha this is a hilarious funeral.")

13.) Talk loudly about bras and stuff at all times, in case he happens

to walk past you and is therefore forced to think about your

underwear.

14.) Walk up to him when he's talking with friends and clear your

throat. If this doesn't work, start clearing all of your body parts,

one after another. Do not stop until he is your boyfriend.

15.) Get some super-kawaii anime surgery and start calling him

"boyfriend-kun;" hopefully he won't notice that you weren't already

dating, or that you are an anime monster.

16.) Primp when you catch him looking your way by adjusting your

clothes and fixing your hair (particularly if you broke it with

anime).

17.) Muss up his hair and tell him he is a good boy like he is a dog.

Then lock eyes with him and say, "I am aware you are a human."

18.) Walk by his table at lunch, then immediately turn around and walk

past again, stomping harder and harder every time until he notices

you.

19.) Drop a lot of mysterious hints around him, e.g. "You're looking a

little under-the-weather" and "If you go out with me I will give you

the antidote."

20.) "Accidentally" run into him somewhere and act like it's all a big

coincidence. ("Wow, I didn't think I'd run into you here, in your

bedroom, looming over you while you are asleep!")

21.) Mention all of the little things you've noticed about him, such

as his eye color, his blood type, how surprisingly easy it is to steal

someone's blood, etc.

22.) Snap your fingers. If this doesn't work, snap his fingers.

23.) People love spontaneity, so he would probably find it really cute

if he got in his car to drive home and you leaped up out of the back

seat and shouted "GUESS WHO LOVES YOU??"

24.) One subtle way to flirt is to position yourself closer to

someone, inside his personal space, so try moving into his basement

without explanation or permission.

25.) Play hard-to-get, with the police, because you will have their

attention too at this point.

Earth Science

Earth science is the study of our planet's physical characteristics,

from earthquakes to raindrops, and floods to fossils. It contains many

branches, such as GEOLOGYand oceanography (the study of the world's

oceans).

WHY IS EARTH SCIENCE USEFUL?

Earth science affects our everyday lives. For example, meteorologists

study the weather and watch for dangerous storms. Hydrologists study

water and warn of floods. Seismologists study earthquakes and try to

predict where they will strike. Geologists study rocks and help to

locate useful minerals.

HOW DO EARTH SCIENTISTS WORK?

Earth scientists mainly work "in the field"—climbing mountains,

exploring the seabed, crawling through caves, or wading in swamps.

They measure and collect samples (such as rocks or river water), then

they record their findings on charts and maps.

GEOLOGY

Geology is the study of the rocks that form the planet's surface.

Geologists examine rocks to find out about the history of the Earth

and how Earth was formed.

HOW DO GEOLOGISTS DATE ROCKS?

Rocks are dated using several methods. Geologists called

stratigraphers study the distribution and order of rock layers, or

strata. The youngest rocks are usually found in layers near the

surface; older rocks lie deeper below. Some rocks contain radioactive

elements that can be dated because they decay, or change, at a

particular rate.

HOW DO FOSSILS HELP TO DATE ROCKS?

Fossils (remains or prints of living things preserved in certain types

of rock) tell scientists the relative age of that rock—that is,

whether it is older or younger than other rocks. This helps scientists

to figure out the history of rock formation in different areas. The

first fossils were formed around 3,600 million years ago.

We learned that the victim who was trailed with a yellow bus while she

was driving in her KIA Rio car with registration number DK487BEN, was

intercepted at her residence in Onwe Nkam street, Democracy Estate,

Abakaliki and kidnapped.

The incident which took place at 3pm of the fateful day took both the

victim's neighbours and church members by surprise as such case was

the first in that area.

The husband of the victim and pastor of Dominion City, Kpirikpiri,

Pastor Aniamaka called on the church and security agents across the

state to ensure a speedy release of his wife from her abductors.

He said: "My brother this incident came as a shock to me; we just

finished our thanksgiving service for the year and my wife decided to

drive the children home and they were intercepted at our residence.

"From the account of my children who were instructed to come down from

the vehicle before the kidnappers took my wife away, the kidnappers

followed them gradually from behind until they got to our residence in

Democracy Estate.

"They threatened my wife with a gun and told my children to come down

from the car before they drove away".

Vanguard gathered that the kidnappers who are still suspected to be in

Ebonyi State had made contact with the family, demanding the sum of

N20 million for the release of the suspect.

Recall that two (2) weeks ago that a Deacon and Deaconness (names

withheld) of Assemblies of God Church in Abakaliki were kidnapped and

later released by their abductors after paying a ransom.

It is believed that a syndicate comprising some young men had decided

to terrorize churches in Abakaliki by kidnapping members believed to

be wealthy in the State.

A source close to the Ebonyi State Police Command who confirmed the

incident stated that the police had visited the scene of the incident

and that it was working assiduously to ensure the release of the

The Only Thing Buhari Has Changed Is His Dressing, His Ideas Are Still Tired, His Utterances Provocative – PDP

The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has

welcomed the candidacy of the former Military Head of State, General

Muhammadu Buhari as the Presidential flag bearer of the All

Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2015 general elections. The party

however said nothing has changed since the last time he contested

except his dinner suit.

"This will be the fourth time General Buhari will be contesting in the

presidential elections.

On each of the three previous occasions, he failed to articulate a

vision of the future that was acceptable to Nigerians. On each

occasion his brand of politics was rejected across Nigeria. Apart from

changing to a dinner suit, General Buhari, has not changed the tired

ideas and provocative utterances that Nigerians rejected in previous

elections.

"We hope that this time round, General Buhari will conduct a campaign

that is issue based and devoid of ethno-religious sentiments," the PDP

said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa

Metuh.

Metuh however maintained that the Presidential candidate of the PDP,

President Goodluck Jonathan remains the best man to rule the country.

"We are convinced that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) remains the

only truly National Political Party in Nigeria, a platform on which

all Nigerians can pursue their legitimate aspirations.

More Than 100 Vietnamese Brides Vanish After Marrying Men From Rural China

Chinese police are on the trail of more than 100 Vietnamese brides who

vanished after marrying bachelors from a poor rural area of the

country, with reports suggesting that an organised ring could be

behind the disappearances. Read more from ABC news:

The grooms, from Quzhou in northern Hebei province, were introduced to

the women by Wu Meiyu, a Vietnamese bride who had lived in the area

for 20 years, the China Daily said.

Ms Wu, who received payments of more than 100,000 yuan ($19,000) if

the introductions were successful, also disappeared with the 100

women, the report added. The state-run newspaper cited an unnamed

local official saying an organised ring might be involved in the mass

disappearance.

"With the advanced communication techniques of today, it's easy for

all the brides to leave at the same time," the man told the newspaper.

Buying wives from south-east Asian countries has become increasingly

common in some of China's poor rural areas, where a gender imbalance

has developed due to a traditional preference for sons and the

country's family planning policies.

Across China, 118 males are born for every 100 females, according to

government statistics. In some rural areas men can be expected to own

a house, car, and have considerable wealth before they can attract a

Chinese bride, a cost the China Daily said could reach 400,000 yuan.
